RESIDENCY
The Committee convened to discuss the issue of residency as well
as a memorandum from the Village Manager in support of residency.
Trustees Feichter and Petri concurred with the rationale for
retaining residency. Trustee Dill noted that the arguments for
retaining residency are not convincing and in this day there is
no value in having a residency requirement. He added that
residency may restrict candidates for positions and that there is
no discernable way to determine whether performance is enhanced
due to a residency requirement.
It was the consensus of the committee to not change the current
residency requirements. Trustee Dill had a dissenting opinion.
The meeting adjourned at 11:30 a.m.
