Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at
a regularly scheduled meeting of the Village President and Board of
Trustees on August 10, 1993, this Executive Session was called to
consider a personnel matter.

PERSONNEL
The Personnel Officer briefed the Board on the current status
of labor negotiations with the Fire Union. The IAFF did not
accept the Village 's comprehensive package that included the
elimination of the residency requirement. The union must provide
a wage schedule for Lieutenants. Additional negotiation sessions
are scheduled for August 1I , 13, 17 and 18. Interest arbitration
is scheduled to begin August 20.
The village President expressed an interest to speak at the
August 18 meeting, if necessary, to convey the village 's strong
desire to resolve the matter before interest arbitration. The
consensus of the Committee was for the Village President to do
so, if necessary. Staff is to advise labor council and the
negotiating committee of this.
