Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at
a regularly scheduled meeting of the Village President and Board of
Trustees on June 13, 1995 this Executive Session was called to
consider a Personnel matter.

PERSONNEL
Chief MacArthur made a presentation on the increased
amount of overtime and the recommendation of hiring additional
firefighters. Chief MacArthur noted that an increased amount
of extended off-duty time due to injury and sickness was
requiring a substantial amount of overtime in order to
maintain required staff levels. The additional overtime costs
in the last fiscal year is estimated at $114,000.
The consensus of the Village Board was to have staff
research the use of overtime in general, beyond extraordinary
causes, to determine ways to reduce overtime costs, including
hiring additional personnel . This issue as well as the
civilianization of inspectional services division personnel
will be discussed at a later date.
