Number of pages attached: 1 Date(s) of review for release: January 1996 Date of approval for release: J J9 G ay ry 9/11195 8:10 P.M. PERSONNEL The Village President reviewed the origin and purpose for requesting staff to research the possible privatization of Village services. The main focus of any privatization effort would be to control or to contain costs. The Village Manager stated that each Department Head had researched the issue within their department and provided a list of those services they provide which are already privatized and those services which could be privatized. Upon further discussion the consensus of the Village Board was as follows: -- to not privatize any services which have a direct affect on public health, safety, and welfare; -- to not privatize any services which involve personal interaction with residents or customers; and -- to look toward privatizing services that do not involve staff interaction with the public. These items will be reviewed in conjunction with the Fiscal Year 1996-1997 budget. The meeting adjourned at 9 :00 p.m. lk
