LITIGATION
The Village Attorney brought the Village Board up to date
on matters regarding the Grove Mall condemnation litigation.
The Village Manager stated that the Southland Corporation
is seeking permission to perform minor improvements to their
Citgo/7-11 store in order to increase their revenue stream.
The Village Manager recommended the Village Board approve the
minor changes subject to executing an agreement with Southland
Corporation requiring them to remodel the facility to be
consistent with the redevelopment of the mall .
The Village Attorney stated that Ron Zamarin will be
filing a motion to dismiss the Serfecz lawsuit against the
Village in the near future. In addition, Special Counsel Ryan
had some preliminary discussions with the Grove Mall attorney
about settling the Condemnation litigation.
Upon further discussion, it was the consensus of the
Village Board to authorize the Village Attorney to negotiate
an agreement with the Southland Corporation to have their
renovations be architecturally compatible with the conceptual
redevelopment of the shopping center.
The meeting adjourned at 10:24 p.m.
