Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly
scheduled meeting of the Village President and Board of Trustees on March 12, 1996, this
Executive Session was called to consider a personnel matter.

PERSONNEL
The Village Manager stated that the acceptance of the
arbitrator's award for the Police Union contract created a
retroactive payroll change for Sergeant Keith Briggs who was
a patrol officer on May 1, 1994, when the Police contract
expired, and was promoted to Sergeant in April of 1995 with
his promotional increase based on the old Police Officer
rate. It was the consensus of the Village Board to allow
the manager to adjust Sergeant Briggs ' salary based on the
impact of the arbitration award now, and not wait for the
final signing of the Police contract before making the
change.
