The Village Manager stated that the Police Department has
made a recommendation on the Police Officer who will work
with the canine unit. The Village Manager stated that he
concurs with the recommendation of the Police Department and
requested authorization to make an exception to the
Village's take-home vehicle policy in order to allow the
officer a method of transporting the dog to and from his
place of residency which is in Bartlett.
Upon further discussion the consensus of the Village
Board was as follows:
• to authorize the canine officer to utilize a
municipal vehicle by driving it to and from his
place of residence which is outside the corporate
limits of the Village. This is an exception to the
Village take-home vehicle policy.
• to advise the Police Union of the change in work
hours which will be required for the officer
handling the dog.
The meeting ended at 7:44 p.m.
