LISSNER Village Trustee Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Village President and Board of Trustees on April 9, 1996 Executive Session was called to consider a litigation matter. Number of pages attached: 1 Date(s)of review for release: July 1996 Date of approval for release: � 04/09/96 6:00 p.m. Litigation The Village Attorney summarized the provisions of the settlement negotiated for the acquisition of the Grove Mall property and discussed the ordinances authorizing the execution of the agreement to purchase the Grove Mall with the Village Board. Following explanation of the settlement by the Village Attorney and Special Counsel, the Village Board discussed the possible timeline and sequence of events for the redevelopment of the property. The consensus of the Village Board was as follows: • to approve the settlement agreement for the purchase of the Grove Mall property at the April 9, 1996 Village Board meeting, • to authorize the press release as drafted by the Village Attorney and the Village Manager; • to direct the Village Attorney to prepare documents creating a T.I.F. district on the Grove Mall property; • to have a separate letter under Village signature sent to leaseholders communicating the Village's intention for the property; • to have staff identify planning firms for a strategic planning session with the Village Board to discuss the conceptual redevelopment of the Grove Mall.
