The Personnel Rules and Regulations prohibit Village employees from serving as an elected government official . The Village Attorney opined that the Personnel Rules are too restrictive in this instance. They are intended to prevent conflict of interest created if an employee was to be elected to a position locally. The consensus of the Board was to grant this request. If the person is elected, the elected position will be treated as outside employment since it is paid. The Personnel Rules will be amended to reflect the Attorney's direction. The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
