It was noted by the Personnel Officer that the addition of the Senior Clerk in his office will add 1.4% to the self-insured premium. The consensus of the Committee was as follows for the self-insured plan: 1. Renew the program with the addition of the Senior Clerk costs in the premium; 2. Accept the "Affordable Care" Hospital Only PPO program and offer employees incentives of no deductible or co-payment on the hospital bill . The employee must still meet deductible and co-payment provisions on all doctor bills and bills from hospitals outside the PPO. Both ABMC and Hoffman Estates Medical Center (formerly Humana Hospital ) are in the "Affordable Care" PPO network. The wholesale cost PPO option is expected to save the Village a minimum of almost $100,000 per year. Additional cost savings will be realized as more employees attend the PPO hospitals. As a condition of joining the PPO, the Village must offer incentives to induce employees to their hospitals; and, 3. Staff is to prepare a memo outlining the Committee's findings. The Committee will discuss these issues with the Village Board on April 3. The Consultants were excused from the meeting at 10:45 p.m. The Consensus of the follows: Committee regarding HMO renewals was as r t i• Eliminate the Health Chicago HMO to receive the 2% discount with HMO Illinois; and 2• Eliminate the Delta Dental HMO, but staff is to obtain costs on the addition of a dental plan through the HMO Illinois plan.
