Public Passenger Vehicle Dispatcher and Taxicab Licenses
The consensus of the Committee was to amend and update various regulations with respect to
public passenger vehicle dispatchers, liveries and taxicabs as follows:
1. Increase insurance coverage to$250,00.00/$500,000.00.
2. Only allow public passenger vehicles dispatched by licensed dispatchers in the Village to be
used for service originating in Elk Grove Village. This change will require any company to
obtain a dispatcher's license in the Village($500.00)in order to dispatch their vehicles to the
Village.
3. Eliminate the establishment of rates on the meter as well as rates to O'Hare and Midway
Airport. All dispatchers must submit their rates to the Village. In addition, the Village
withholds the right to publish those rates at the Village's discretion.
4. Amend the application process by requiring the applicant to submit to a physical
examination,provide a photograph and submit to fingerprint examination.
5. Implement miscellaneous testing and process regulations with respect to inspections and
inspection procedures.
