Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly
scheduled meeting of the Village President and Board of Trustees on January 13. 2004,this
Executive Session was called to consider a Personnel matter.

Personnel
Chairman Lissner reported on the recommendation of the Personnel Committee regarding
paramedic hiring guidelines.
Since not all paramedics would have to be sent to training,it was noted that this change
will save the Village money by not having to pay salary while they are away at training.
It was noted that this issue can be implemented at the next Fire &Police Commission
meeting since it does not have to go through the Union.
The consensus was to recommend approval of the changes in the hiring practice for
paramedics by allowing the hiring of certified paramedics in lieu of the 60-hour college
requirement.
