Zettek Bung, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the following were present: Chairman Gayle B. Bantner, Secretary Alan J. Shapiro, DDS, and Commissioner E. Butch Ehrke. It was moved by Commissioner Ehrke and seconded by Commissioner Shapiro that the minutes of July 20, 2004 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. The motion was moved upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Bantner declared the motion carried. PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES 1) Police Consultants, Inc., Invoice 3096 dated 8/5/04 in the amount of$500.00 for psychological evaluation of police candidate. 2) Police Consultants, Inc., Invoice 3091 dated 7/29/04 in the amount of$500.00 for psychological evaluation of police candidate. 3) Police Consultants, Inc., Invoice 3087 dated 7/26/04 in the amount of$500.00 for psychological evaluation of police candidate. 4) Dr. Charles Boyajian, Invoice dated 8/12/04 in the amount of$495.00 for medical evaluation of police candidate. 5) Police Consultants Invoice dated 8/11/04 in the amount of$500.00 for psychological evaluation of police candidate. It was moved by Commissioner Ehrke and seconded by Commissioner Shapiro that the Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. CORRESPONDENCE 1) Letter to police candidate Advis(hg him to schedule his psychological evaluation as soon as possible. 2) Memo from Chief Goostree regarding comments/constructive criticism of the performance of probationary firefighter. 3) Memo from Chief Goostree requesting that the commission schedule a firefighter entrance examination process this fall. 4) Letter to police candidate advising him that he did not pass his psycholdgical evaluation. 5) Copy of written reprimand dated July 30, 2004 issued to police officer for violating Rules and Regulations, Section 26.1.1A, Rules of Conduct, Rule 05 (Failure to perform a duty). MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS August 17,2004 Page Two 6) Copy of written reprimand dated July 30, 2004 issued to police officer for violating Rules and Regulations, Section 26.1.1A, Rules of Conduct, Rule 34 (Engaging in any activity, conversation, deliberation, or discussion which is derogatory to the Department, any member, or policy of the Department). 7) Letter to police candidate advising him that he did not pass his psychological evaluation. 8) Letter from firefighter announcing his retirement effective 09/12/04. Letter from Chief Goostree to F/F congratulating him on his retirement. OLD BUSINESS -None NEW BUSINESS -None PENDING 1) Police Officer Hiring Process--four vacancies; authorization to replace two at this time. Current eligibility list effective until June 1, 2006. 2) Firefighter Hiring Process—six vacancies; no authorization to replace at this time. Current eligibility list effective until December 27, 2004. EXECUTIVE SESSION 1) Conducted individual oral interviews for five police candidates. ADJOURNMENT It was moved by Commissioner Ehrke and seconded Commissioner Shapiro that the meeting be adjourned.
