Board of Health Chairman present: Pat McHale
Items of Discussion
1. Proposed Amended Plant and Weed Control Ordinance.
The "old" Plant and Weed Control Ordinance has been
reviewed by the Health Department, the Board of Health
and the Village Attorney. Changes were made by the
Village Attorney and the proposed "amended" ordinance
was reviewed by the groups again. The newly amended
copy was reviewed by JPZ and met with their approval.
It will be recommended for acceptance at the May 11th
Village Board Meeting.
2. The Proposed Amended In Home Day Care Liscensing Ordinance
The Attorney drafted an amended 'In Home Day Care
Ordinance" to correspond with the newly amended State
Statute on Day Care Homes. After review by JPZ, they
decided to recommend adoption of the new ordinance by
the Village Board at the May llth meeting. the JPZ
Committee also stated that if a Day Care Home was not
licensed by the State that those homes should not be
recommended to residents by Community Services.
3. General Furniture Leasing - 1370 Higgins Road:
Reviewed letter from Attorney J. Ash representing the
owner of the property. Mr. Ash's letter stated a hardship
would be imposed if the property was rezoned to B-3 from
its present Industrial classification. The Business
classification would not permit warehousing.
Discussion was held: should the property be Zoned B-3,
should the present variation be continued on a yearly
basis similar to the Elks, should the 5% retail regulation
be increased?
It was agreed to further study the problem. No firm
action was taken.

4. Five Percent Retail Regulation:
Discussion was held on information previously submitted by
the owner of the Shoe Factory Outlet Store and Stan Klhyber
of the O'Hare Association. It was decided that the regu-
lation could possibly be increased to 20o but no greater
based on the present economy and that the existing zoning
conditions not be changed. No firm action was taken.
