Kukla Press - Industrial Revenue Bond Request
Len Flood presented a Memorandum of Agreement and a report from
the financial consultant (Nuveen & Associates) regarding the Kukla
Press request for an Industrial Revenue Bond in the amount of $4,000,000.
The Nuveen report noted two (2) items:
1) Kukla Press is composed of a number of interlocking partnerships;
and
2) The company's financial reports are not audited each year.
Mr. Flood explained that since Kukla Press is not a large, public
owned corporation, but rather a family-owned business, they character-
istically are not required to publish a certified public audit every
year. Flood further noted that if the Village Attorney approves the
form and content of the Memorandum of Intent and the Resolution adopting
same, the entire IRB request could be brought forward for consideration
by the Village Board.
JPZ Committee members unanimously recommended approval of the IRB
request and asked that it be brought before the Village Board at its
meeting of September 28, 1982.
General Numeric Corporation Annexation
A memorandum from the Assistant Village Manager regarding the
annexation petition of the General Numeric Corporation was reviewed.
Questions of future ingress and egress to areas surrounding the proposed
annexation site (.49 acres, east of 390 Kent Street) were discussed.
Staff was directed to investigate:
1) Whether the Stein/Ohlerking Annexation Agreement may be
reopened for further negotiation to acquire right-of-way
for public streets; and
2) The make-up of property owners in the vicinity between
390 Kent Street and the Stein/Ohlerking Property.
