PARKING IN INDUSTRIAL ZONED DISTRICTS
Stanley Klyber, Greater O'Hare Association, reported that many companies
in the Village's I-1 Zoning District have a shortage of on-site parking
and that the hardship would be alleviated if parking were permitted
in the 25' front yard setback. Petitions supporting that request were
then given to Chairman Gallitano.
The Village Manager noted that problems have occurred with parking in
the setback. Those problems include reduced visibility; an increased
potential for stormwater runoff; the lack of a snow stacking area; and
greater difficulty for utility companies to undertake work in the ease-
ment.
The consensus of the JPZ Committee was to examine the problem in more
detail. The Committee noted that the Village Board has placed a
moratorium on the enforcement against those parking in the front yard
setback.
