Colby, Chicago Magnet Wire John Bielas, Morton International John Paspeison, Elk Grove Plating Philip Kenney, FPM Heat Treating ZONING PERFORMANCE STANDARDS The Village Attorney reviewed each section of the draft Zoning Performance Standards, as amended from the JPZ Committee ' s meeting with the Greater O'Hare Association. The JPZ Committee requested that the Village Attorney review the following sections of the draft for possible clarification: SECTION 5 . 83 (A) - It should be noted that a Special Use Permit is required when the principal use of a business is the storage of chemicals . A Special Use Permit is not required if the storage of chemicals is an incidental use to the business . SECTION 5 . 85(B) - Is the prohibition on the manufacture of soap limited to soap bars or is the manufacture of liquid soap and shampoo also prohibited? In addition, members of the Greater-O'Hare Committee expressed concern regarding the authority of the Village ' s enforcement officer. The Village Attorney noted that the Village ' s intent is to allow the enforcement officer to decide what is an immediate or non-immediate threat. A standard of reasonableness applies to the officer' s decision. Acting Chairman Bosslet noted that the Zoning Performance Standards are still in Committee, and that a public hearing before the Plan Commission is required before the Village can adopt those standards .
