Rettberg, Trustee Staff Present: Steve Trudan, Plan Rev. /Bld. Ins. Supervisor Chairperson Czarnik called the meeting to order at approximately 7: 05 P.M. Residential Zoning Variation - 97 Keswick The petitioner, Sheila Starr presented a diagram showing the locations of both existing fences and the proposed fence. She explained that she was seeking a variation for a solid fence for privacy, and also for safety reasons. She felt that a chain link fence (which would be permitted in the same location) would be easy for children to climb and would therefore be insufficient in terms of safety considerations. Ms. Czarnik expressed concern over the possibility of this variation initiating future variation requests. Mr. Chernick explained the reasoning behind the setback requirements for fences. Mr. Rettberg questioned the permitted locations for open vs closed fences. Mr. Trudan explained the line of sight safety concerns addressed by the zoning requirements. A motion was made by Mr. Rettberg to grant the variation request and was passed by unanimous vote. The meeting was adjourned at 7:27 P.M. c: President & Board of Trustees, Village Manager, Assistant Village Manager, Administrative Assistant, Village Clerk, Village Attorney, Director, DE/CD, Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, Police Chief pcd
