JPZ MEETING
May 30, 2001
7:07 p.m.
In Attendance:
Bart Dill, Chairman
Nancy Czarnik, Member
Sam Lissner, Member
George Knickerbocker, Staff Attorney
The JPZ Committee was called to order by Chairman Bart Dill at 7:07 p.m. The main
purpose of the meeting was to discuss a proposed ordinance relating to gambling activity
as permitted by the Illinois Charitable Games Act as well as the introduction of
provisions for the licensing of raffles. This ordinance and a memorandum describing the
ordinance had previously been submitted to the committee by the Village Attorney.
The Village Attorney responded to various questions concerning the coverage of the
raffle amendment, the various fees and prize amounts which would be permitted by the
new ordinance as well as various restrictions on who can be licensed. After further
discussion, it was the consensus of the JPZ Committee to recommend that this ordinance
be adopted by the full Board at the next scheduled meeting.
Thereafter, a brief discussion ensued concerning whether to have the committee consider
issues related to private sewer line replacement and repair. The committee was of the
opinion to pursue this matter at a future meeting with additional input from staff.
The meeting adjourned at 7:42 p.m.
