A meeting of the Firemen's Pension Fund was held on Thursday, April 20, 1995 in the
Fire Dept. Administrative Offices, 901 Brantwood Ave. The Meeting was called to
order by President Harvey R. Speiden at 7:05 P.M.
ROLL CALL
On Roll Call the following members were present; Harvey R. Speiden, Jerry Norris,
Hilda Ingebrigtsen, Patricia S. Smith, James D. MacArthur, Richard T. Dugan,
Patrick L. Beck. Fund members Fredrick Rohrer, Ron Temberg, his wife Barb
Temberg, and Robert Arnold Mr. Temberg's attorney were also present. Absent were;
Dennis J. Gallitano, George P. Knickerbocker. Mr. Richard J. Puchalski, Attorney at
Law, Pension Fund Legal Counsel was present.
MINUTES
Motion by Richard Dugan, Seconded by Jerry Norris to accept the minutes of March 09,
1995 as written and dispense with their reading. Motion passed unanimously.
TREASURER'S REPORT
Treasurer H. Ingebrigtsen submitted a Balance Sheet, Schedule of Investments, and a
Disbursement Register of the Firemen's Pension Fund of February 28, 1995. She
reviewed all three with the Board Members and explained their contents. A note was
mentioned on the unfunded actuarial deficiency as stated in the report. It was
explained as the difference between the Department of Insurance actuarial and an
independent actuarial which the Department of Insurance recognizes. Motion by Patrick
Beck, seconded by James MacArthur to accept the Treasurer's Report, Certify the
Disbursement Register and place it, the Schedule of Investments, and Balance Sheet
on file with the Minutes. Motion passed unanimously.

Motion by Patrick Beck, seconded by Patricia Smith to certify the April 17, 1995
Election, Richard T. Dugan , the winner, term of office expiring April 1998. Motion
passed unanimously.

All Three motions passed unanimously. The Secretary was instructed to cast
unanimous ballot for the above offices. Therefore the above officers are declared
elected.
The Secretary brought the subject of the Department of Insurance Seminar which was
tentatively scheduled for May 24, 1995. A motion was made by Patrick Beck, seconded
by Harvey Speiden to approve the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $400.00 to
pay for the room, beverage, and rolls. The Motion passed unanimously.
APPLICATION FOR DISABILITY
The Secretary reported that an Application for Disability was received from Fredrick J.
Rohrer. A motion was made by Patrick Beck, seconded by Jerry Norris to go into
executive session to conduct a hearing regarding the disability of Fredrick J. Rohrer.
Motion passed unanimously. The President questioned Mr. Rohrer regarding his
disability with direction from Pension Board Attorney Richard Puchalski while the
hearing was being transcribed by a Court reporter. Mr. Rohrer was allowed to speak
on his behalf regarding his application for disability. All Medical reports were reviewed.
A discussion followed, after which a motion was made by Patrick Beck, seconded by
Jerry Norris to adopt Mr. Rohrer's physician as one of the Pension's Board's Physicians
and grant Mr. Rohrer's application for disability due to the fact that all doctor's concur
that Mr. Rohrer's condition is a permanent disability and that he can no longer perform
the duties of a firefighter. The Motion passed unanimously. The following 65% in the
Line of Duty Pension will take effect on February 3, 1995.

While in executive session the hearing for Mr. Ternberg's disability was convened and
President Speiden conducted additional questioning of Mr. Temberg and Mr. Arnold
added additional exhibits on the behalf of Mr. Ternberg. The Board discussed the
information at hand and decided that the matter should be continued based on the fact
that the transcripts of the earlier hearing were not available and the Board needed the
transcripts to come to a conclusion.
APPLICATION FOR BENEFITS
The Secretary advised the President that applications for benefits were received from
John Hanko and Lary Novak.
A motion was made by Patricia Smith , seconded by Jerry Norris to approve the
Application for Regular Pensions for John Hanko and Larry Novak pending receipt of
all documentation. Motion passed unanimously. Benefits are as follows:
