OLD BUSINESS
The Illinois Department of Insurance has not accepted our check for compliance fees. Richard
Puchalski stated that everybody should have received a letter as of Nov 3, 1998. The letter stated
that everything is on hold until the courts make a decision as to whether the Illinois Department
of Insurance can access our accounts directly or whether they must accept our check as payment.
Rich Dugan stated that our annual fee has gone from$125.00 to$2337.00. Puchalski also stated
a lawsuit was filed on behalf of 19 pension boards but the Assistant Attorney General stated that
the lawsuit would only apply to these 19 pension boards. About 84, other pension boards were
notified and they filed a motion to intervene in the lawsuit. The court then stated that the status
quo would be maintained until the legal issues were resolved.
NEW BUSINESS
Five new members have applied to become pension members. Todd A. Rishling did not have his
paperwork completed so he will have to wait until the next meeting to be voted on.
