HomeMy WebLinkAboutFIRE PENSION - 02/12/2001 - MINUTES OF BOARD MEETING ELK GROVE FIREFIGHTER'S PENSION FUND February 12,2001 Pagel of 3 CALL TO ORDER A meeting of the Firefighter's pension fund was held on February 12, 2000 in the Fire Department Administration Office 901 Brantwood Avenue. The meeting was called to order by President Richard Dugan at 7:07 p.m. ROLL CALL On roll call the following members were present: Richard Dugan,Jerry Norris, Hilda Ingebrigtsen, Mark Percudani, Brian McVeigh, and Ann Walsh. In addition Bob Zelek, Attorney at Law, Pension Fund Legal Counsel was in attendance. Absent were, Craig Johnson, George Knickerbocker, and James D. MacArthur. MINUTES A motion was made by Jerry Norris to accept the minutes of the August 7, 2000 meeting. Brian McVeigh seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. REPORT OF INVESTMENTS Hilda Ingebrigtsen handed out a quarterly review/report of Elk Grove Village fire pension fund investments with Solomon Smith Barney along with a cover letter from Mary Tomanek. She reviewed and explained its content to the members. TREASURER'S REPORT Treasurer Hilda Ingebrigtsen submitted a balance sheet, disbursement register, and an open investment listing as of December 30, 2000. Hilda reviewed and explained the contents of these reports to the Board members. A motion was made by Mark Percudani to accept the Treasurer's Report. Jerry Norris seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Page 2 of 3 QLD BUSINESS None. NEW BUSINESS President Richard Dugan presented to the Board a new application for a regular retirement pension from Richard Keyworth. Creditable service time was verified though the Fire Chief's office, along with the Finance Department. All other paper work was in order. A motion was made by Brian McVeigh to accept the application and grant retirement pension to Richard Keyworth. The motion was seconded by Jerry Norris. The motion passed unanimously. President Richard Dugan stated that he is in receipt of a pension application and all supporting documentation of Matthew J. Bonilla. A motion was made by Jerry Norris to accept Matthew J. Bonilla into the Elk Grove Village Pension Fund as of September 11, 2000. Motion was seconded By Brian McVeigh. The motion passed unanimously. President Richard Dugan stated that he is in receipt of a pension application and all supporting documentation of Thomas J. Wind, Jr. A motion was made by Brian McVeigh to accept Thomas J. Wind, Jr. into the Elk Grove Village Pension Fund as of February 12, 2001. Motion was seconded By Jerry Norris. The motion passed unanimously President Richard Dugan stated that he is in receipt of a pension application and is waiting Certified copies from Kevin Cotte. A motion was made by Jerry Norris to accept Kevin Cotte into the Elk Grove Village Pension Fund as of February 12, 2001 pending receipt of Certified copies of certificates. The motion was seconded by Ann Walsh. The motion passed unanimously. Gus Tsuolos has filed an application for refund. President Richard Dugan stated that all of his paper work was in order and that a motion was required to grant the refund. Brian McVeigh made a motion to grant Gus Tsuolos a refund. Jerry Norris seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Discussion took place on the amount of the disability pension of Mr. McCulla. Hilda stated she is going to look into the amount that he is receiving. Richard Dugan stated that a pension board election is scheduled to take place in April. Richard Dugan's term is up at this time. Rich stated that he is not interested in running for this term. Notices need to be placed in the fire houses in March for the elections to take place in April. Page 3 of 3 ADJOURNMENT Motion was made by Jerry Norris to adjourn. It was seconded by Brian McVeigh.
