Tax Board
March 19, 1997 Meeting Minutes
1) Meeting of the EGVFD Foreign Fire Tax Board started @ 7:05pm at the
fire administration building, with 8 members present.

Guest: Jim Forde, John Fordon
President's Recmrt: John reported that himself& the Chief met with the
Village Board and most of the Fire Tax budget was approved. Free weight
budget package item's where not approved. John also reported the village
manager was very happy with the job the fire-tax board did with preparing the
budget. Would like to thank all for their participation.
Treasure's Report: Hilda was excused tonight, but a balance sheet was
passed out.
Secretary's Report: Scott would like to thank Peter Gutzmer & Rick
Krieger for filling in and taking the minutes at the last 2 meeting's due to
vacation. Village Clerk will have been given copy's of all minutes up to this
meeting. Awaiting clipboard's to hang in station's before minutes will be
distributed. If there is anyone that would like to see them, please have them
contact me.
General Meeting•

A) Jim MacArthur reported on the procedure's to be followed for approved
budget item's:
-Over $100 requires a purchase requisition.
-$500 to under $5,000 must have minimum of 2 written quotes.
Aver $5,000 formal bidding procedure's.
Jim did report that the Village may be raising the minimum for bidding to
$15,000. If it changes he'll let us know.
B) Member's who have budget item's, try to have ready for next meeting
price quote's for your item's.
C) Bob Stecki brought up a concern regarding the lighting package's.
Specifically a question about possible liability/voiding warranty in regard's to
placing helmet light's on the current helmet's (Cairns & Brother) we have.
Scott did say that Cairns has stated previously that unless the product is
bought from them, it will void the warranty of their helmet. There is another
., manufacturer which has reported they will continue their warranty regardless
as to what is put on the helmet. This item will have to be researched farther.
John Forde, Bob & Scott will work on this.
D)No further business, meeting was adjourned at 8:OOpm. Next meeting
Wednesday April 16, 1997.
