HomeMy WebLinkAboutFOREIGN FIRE INSURANCE BOARD - 02/20/2003 - Elk Grove Village Fire Department Foreign Fire Insurance Board Meeting February 20, 2003 PRESENT: Fordon, Haverland, Sharp, McVeigh, Lamka, Miller, Skowronski, Goostree ABSENT.- Ingebrigtsen, Ferguson, Bonilla Cotte(Paramedic Class) Quorum present? Yes Sit in: Peterson, Kelly, Hall, and S. Miller Proceedings: -Meeting called to order at 1910 hrs by Chair, John Fordon -(Last month's) meeting minutes were amended and approved Chairman's Report: -As stated in last months meeting Chairman Fordon, Chief MacArthur, Goostree, and Miller met with Gary Parin to make a second request for budget approval of shoes and other items the board felt should be pursued further. Parin turned this request down stating he didn't feel [he' could justify the purchase of shoes and the other items (recognition boards, mission carpets), stating it was not economically sound at this time. He did state he had no problem with John going above him to the Village Board with this request. John should be meeting on March 18, 2003 with the board. -John stated he received an interoffice from Chief MacArthur and per the interoffice once something is bought by Foreign Fire funds. The Village assumes the responsibility to maintain it, but when it comes up for replacement the Foreign Fire is responsible for replacing it. This was in a memo between Chief MacArthur and Hilda Ingebrigtsen. OLD BUSINESS -Alarm Room and Apparatus Floor Maps,update still working out the details to have the maps show Busse woods groves, Fox Run Golf course links, the separation of districts, highway mile markers, and the current main street numeric's (shown on our station maps) we now have in the industrial pk. (Lively as 1100,Nicholas is 2200, etc.) and still be in budget ($2000) for four stations, apparatus floor, and alarm room and EOC (Laminated) x6. -Com Van, Chief MacArthur states Capt. Stecki is ready and will get together with the chief and have his presentation on why this is needed in two weeks. -House Fund, Discussed that at this time we should keep it as a house Fund and not absorb it into the Foreign Fire. Belinda also stated she would be willing to continue to be one of the stewards of this fund (along with A/C Vrshek). There is approx. $2014.06 in the fund. -Dumbbells, D/C Miller states Lynn Cox initiated a second set of paper work for Kevin Nejedlo and that it was going out for Bid because its over$10,000 ($4000) for the racks. -Towel Service, Sharp stated he would talk to F/F Reid about the cost, set up etc. -Village Ordinance, Phil Haverland read from the Village ordinance that states: anything that is sold from the Fire Dept. as surplus all monies go into the Foreign Fire Budget. Phil stated that Chief MacArthur stated that only applied to what was bought by the Foreign Fire Insurance Board. NEW BUSINESS RECEIVED Meeting adjourned at 2015 APR 0 1 2003 VILLAGE CLERK'S OFFICE
