Foreign Fire Insurance Board Meeting
AUGUST 21, 2003

-(Last month's) meeting minutes were amended and approved CIEH2 C 2003

Chairman's Report:
-Nothing to report
OLD BUSINESS
- New TV for station 10: TV has been received and set up by 1sT shift personnel.
- TV Stands/Wall Mounts; Matt Bonilla advised to proceed with purchase of TV wall mounts (from
the old house fund). The board approved this in the last meeting. Request for TV stands submitted to
the Chief who then submitted it to Partin.
- Internet Service: Request/Proposal was received by the Chief and passed on to the Village Manager.
The Village Manager still had some concerns about `personal use' of the FFIB computers. Ed May is
reviewing the details. Chief also asked that we allow the DSL line to be used as a backup for the Fire
Departments Video Conference system that is due to be brought online soon. All members voted yes.
- New Vice Chairman Matt Bonilla acknowledged
- Maps: Sharp states he has had problems with finding a computer with the proper software and
powerful enough to handle the large Map files on the CD the map company gave him. This is then
returned to the company with the editing and notations added and the maps are produced from that.
Company stated to him that Kinko's should have a powerful enough computer to edit the maps if not
they would help edit them. It was determined to try to have them assist in editing the maps.
NEW BUSINESS
- New Budget items discussed but not voted on(Bob Cat &trailer, PDA/Palm Pilots, Workout/Physical
Fitness accessories, individual spanner wrenches, and more).
-Tuition Reimbursement for non-fire service related classes; it was brought to the attention of the
board that there were request to look into paying for non-fire related classes. Chief stated he would look
into this with the Village Manager.
-Preacher Benches- unknown status, Sharp will follow up with Kevin Nejedlo to find out the status.
-Ballots For upcoming elections—Sharp states he will get started on them(several members term
expire in October)
