Miller, Haverland ABSENT.• Christine Tromp, Lamka, Bonilla, Hall, Rogers, Quorum present?Yes Sit in: S. Miller, Peterson Approval of minutes— motion by Skowronski, minutes approved Correspondence/Members to be heard - Michael sharp submitted a proposal to the FFIB for approval for the purchase and installation of Display cases for the maps. 4 maps were purchased in last years budget and 1 map for the Administration building was included in this year's budget. A total of$5000 for 5 display cases at all four stations and the Administration building, pulse $450 for electrical hookup at the four stations. The board agreed that the money could be taken from other budget areas with most of it coming from what is left over from the purchase of a Thermal Imaging camera. Motion passed unanimously. Chairman's Report: -Nothing to report Vice Chairman's Report: -Nothing to report Secretary/Treasurer Report: - No change this month: $626,507 minus $49,000 taken out for 2004/2005 budget year expense leaving $577,507 non-allocated. House Fund total $1050.58 Committee Reports - Education Committee: Nothing to report - Total disbursements out of Tuition Reimbursement account for 2004: $1275.00 - John Kelly reported on the outcome of a poll he took of the Fire Department members desire for the future of the House Fund. To either keep the fund as is, dissolve it and give it back to individual payees, or spend it on the members. Results: 4 say give money back, 22 say leave as is, 47 say spend it on the members. McVeigh made the final motion to split the fund between the 3 shifts and then have each shift decide the choice of donating it to the victims of the Florida Hurricane, or donating to `William Penkava' benefit, or the shift could spend it on a party. Motion was second and passed unanimously OLD BUSINESS - Status of items approved in the 2004 Budget: Mic Clips- purchased and distributed `Fire Calculator'- being purchased, Station 8 TV—check is being cut for $599.99 to purchase 35' TV RIT Pack—needs letter attached for justification due to price increase Upgrade software for FFIB computers— Sharp working with Michael Cassman on this Ice Makers sta. 9 &IO— _.,arp looking into purchasing small typt, Ke at sta. 7 Cascade System for 02 refill—waiting feedback from D/C Forde and Capt. Denna for best location PDA Bar Code scanners—Lt. Krieger in the process of finding a cheaper vendor(price went up since last quote) Thermal Imaging Camera—waiting Capt. Stecki input Weight Scales— Sigler did the legwork, Sharp will purchase them Village Map for Administration building—being purchased by Sharp NEW BUSINESS — Time for submittal of new budget items-No items discussed — Capt. Miller addressed the FFIB board and presented the benefits of a Life Pak 12 upgrade and demonstrated the benefits of an upgrade in the type and number of stair chair/stretchers being purchased by the EMS department. Capt Miller requested the FFIB assistance in purchasing the upgrade for the Life Pak 12's and Chair Stretchers. Capt. Miller states this will improve the operation and performance of the Life Paks, make them more user friendly to the Paramedics, and improve the quality of care to the residents of Elk Grove Village. — Motion by Skowronski to purchase the upgrades to the Life Paks I2's at an amount not to exceed $9500.00. Motion passed unanimously. Haverland motion to add to the EMS budget to purchase the Chair Stretchers at an amount not to exceed $8500.00. Motion passed unanimously. Haverland made a motion to keep items together, Items must be approved together and if one is thrown out the other one must be thrown out also. Motion passed unanimously. — The board approved and Chief Goostree agreed with purchasing TV wall brackets/stands from the FFIB equipment maintenance budget already provided.
