RECEIVED Foreign Fire Insurance Board Meeting February 17, 2005 APR 2 0 2005 Call to order 1907 hrs by Chairman Hall VILLAGF CLERK'S OFFICE Roll Call PRESENT: Sharp, D. Miller, Haverland, McVeigh, Goostree, Pytlewicz, Hall, Kelly, Bonilla(via video conference) ABSENT. Christine Tromp, Rogers, Skowronski Quorum present?Yes Sit in: Stecki Approval of minutes— minutes approved for January CorrespondenceiMembers to be heard -none Chairman's Report: -Howard stated it's looking more like cable boxes for all stations might be a better option than satellite service. Howard states he will continue to look into getting digital cable boxes that allow up to 300 channels. We would get all the channels except inappropriate channels i.e. the Playboy channel -Chairman Hall thanked the Chief and expressed his appreciation for the letter he wrote supporting the FFIB budget including the Wallet Badges -Chairman discussed the guidelines for Tuition Reimbursement of Fire Officer classes and the like submitted for reimbursement. Vice Chairman's Report: - Station 8 TV stands: Bonilla states he's waiting on a check for the TV stand and the TV mount is on special order Secretary/Treasurer Report: - Total in FFIB fund balance prior to 2005 budget set aside$647,900—minus 2005 Budget operating fund set aside $75,900 (tuition reimbursement, Thermal Imaging camera, Ice Machines, etc...) Total left in `the bank' $572,000 Committee Reports Education Committee: Nothing to report OLD BUSINESS Status of remaining items being purchased: RIT Pack—It's in-service but we are still working on getting the proper 25-foot hose attachment, it came with a shorter hose due to a mix up with the Finance dept. Thermal Imaging Camera—Capt. Stecki spoke to the board and stated he had the understanding that a committee off FFIB members on his shift would check out the cameras and report back to the board. Captain Stecki felt all members should have had the chance to view and test the cameras from the vendors when they visited, and several cameras were left on station 7 apparatus to be observed further in real situations. Chairman Hall stated he didn't believe that was the agreement and if so still wanted to see the cameras himself along with other board members who had not seen the cameras including Chief Goostree. Hall request he have the ISG camera that Capt. Stecki stated was the favorite by most department members be brought to the next meeting or be available for viewing before the next meeting Map Cases- Case install at the Fire Administration building, the Maps and Plexi-Glass will be inserted shortly. Go ahead given to build remaining 4 cases for the Fire stations. NEW BUSINESS a. Motion brought to the floor to pay for the purchase at $600, and the maintenance cost of$2000 for Thermal Imaging camera's also maintenance of Exercise equipment at $1143 for 1 year.
