HomeMy WebLinkAboutBOARD OF HEALTH - 01/05/1988 - MINUTES VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE BOARD OF HEALTH JANUARY 5, 1988 The regular meeting of the Elk Grove Village Board of Health was called to order at 7:40 p.m. in the lower level meeting room of the Village Hall. BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT Pat Bourke Pat McHale, Chairman Ray Dean Ray DePalma Diane Dopp D. Kelly STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT D. Labinsky Jim Ruby Nancy Yiannis In the absence of Chairman Pat McHale, D. Kelly chaired the meeting. I. Old Business A. Senior Impact Study The Board reviewed the proposed Community Impact Study for senior citizens from Richard H. Sewell. Pat Bourke moved the proposed be accepted by the Board of Health. The motion was seconded by Ray Dean. It was passed unanimously. B. Proposed Rental Housing Committee The proposed Rental ordinance was discussed at length by the Board. D. Labinsky expressed con- cern about the Housing Appeals Board because it has Board of Health Members on it. The second draft was acceptable to the Board. Pat Bourke moved that the draft be approved by the Board of Health. The motion was seconded by Ray Dean. The motion was passed unanimously. C. Suburban Primary Health Care Council Update The final approval by the Chicago Community Trust will be in March. It looks very promising at this point. Implementation will begin immed- iately after such approval. A few more details have to be ironed out. Additonal funding for the project is being sought out by the Council. Two good prospects have been found. Pa ge 2 II. Routine Reports A. Coordinator's Report The December 15th Immunization Clinic was post- poned because of the snowstorm and was re- scheduled for December 29th. Only thirteen children came and were given twenty shots. The hospital is considering accepting CCDPH's offer to make HIB shots available. They will probably be available in March. Eighty-one food service and day care employees were given TB tests. Four were found positive and referred to the TB Sanitarium District. The Budget for 1988-89 will be completed by January 11th. No major changes have been made and only one large capital item was requested - an auto to replace the refurbished squad car currently driven by the Sanitarian.
