I New Business
Dick Olson, Personnel Officer for the Village, was present to discuss
the Village employees medical plan. Currently the Village offers
its employees the Village self-insured traditional medical plan plus three
HMO plans (Pru Care, HAP and Health Chicago) . The Village had Previously
offered only Pru Care and HAP HMOs. In response to employee requests
for a more comprehensive dental plan and better physician membership,
Health Chicago was added to the list of HMO's because it offered both of
these benefits. Dave Dopp felt that the Village should offer an HMO
that had more physicians affiliated with Alexian Brothers Medical Center
plus an HMO that already had a contract with Alexian Brothers Medical
Center. Pat McHale will set up a meeting with Brother Phillip, Dick Olson
and herself to discuss HMO's contracted with Alexian Brothers Medical
Center. Dick said he would be happy to communicate with the Board of Health
in the future if they had any further questions or imput on the Village
Medical Plans.
