OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
HELD ON MARCH 15,2016
Chairman E. Butch Ehrke called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek
Building,901 Wellington Avenue,Elk Grove Village,and noted for the record that the
following members were present: Chairman E. Butch Ehrke, Secretary Michael Kontek and
Commissioner Dion Z.innel. Guests present: Chief Steve Schmidt.
Secretary Kontek moved that the minutes of the February 16, 2016 meeting be approved as
submitted and that the Board dispense with the reading thereof. Commissioner Zinnel
seconded the motion. It was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Ehrke declared
the motion carried.
PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES
None
CORRESPONDENCE
1. Written Reprimand dated 03/02/2016 to Police Officer for violating Rules and
Regulations of the Elk Grove Village Police Department, Section 26.1.1A,Rules of
Conduct,Rule 46(Failure to operate a Village vehicle in a safe and prudent manner or
to obey related traffic laws).
2. Memo from Chief Schmidt dated 3/7/2016 regarding the one-year performance of
Probationary Police Officers Christopher Palmese,Joshua Swoboda, and Brandon
Neuman.
3. Memo from Chief Schmidt dated 3/7/2016 regarding the six-month performance of
Probationary Police Officer Amy Petrouski.
OLD BUSINESS
1. Meeting with Chief Schmidt to discuss police officer hiring process.
2. Discuss firefighter hiring process.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Conducted final probationary reviews for Officers Palmese, Swoboda and Neuman.
2. Conducted six-month probationary review for Officer Petrouski.
3. Reviewed DVD of swear ins conducted at the January 1P Village Board Meeting.

ELIGIBILITY LIST
1. Firefighter—Eligibility list containing 115 names will expire on September 14, 2017.
2. Fire Lieutenant—Ten names appear on the eligibility list scheduled to expire on
November 9, 2017.
3. Police Officer- One name remains on the final eligibility list which will expire on
December 27, 2016. We are currently processing candidates from the Preliminary
Eligibility List to create a new Final Eligibility List.
4. Police Sergeant—Five names remain on the list scheduled to expire on July 7, 2018.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Commissioner Zinnel and seconded Commissioner Kontek that the meeting
be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Ehrke
declared the motion carried. Meeting adjourned 7:15 p.m.
