BOARD OF HEALTH - 03/06/1990 -
Minutes Village of Elk Grove Board of Health March 6, 1990 The regular meeting of the Elk Grove Village Board of Health was called to order at 7:40 p.m. by Pat Mc Hale, Chairman, in Meeting Room C of the Village Hall. Board Members Present Board Members Absent Pat McHale, Chairman Ray Dean Pat Bourke Dr. Kelly Pat Briggs Dr. Labinsky Ray De Palma Jim Rubly Dave Dopp Staff Members Present Nancy Yiannias The minutes of the February 6, 1990, meeting had three typographical errors in I Old Business A. Corrections were made and the minutes were approved. I. Old Business A. Access To Care The president of Access to Care, Richard Sewell, is leaving for a position at the Chicago Board of Health. The agency is actively looking for a replacement. B. Recycling & Yard Waste The Recycling Committee has yet to decide on a specific program for yard waste. Their decision is forthcoming from several alternatives that they have been discussing. Pat Bourke brought up the possibility of incorporating the recycling program with Earth Day, which will be at the end of April. The Board also discussed the possibility of the Village holding a seminar for Earth Day. They also had some concerns on the following: 1) They are concerned that the Recycling Committee is made up only of Trustees with no community participation for information gathering. 2) They are concerned that there is no plan for the Village to become involved in Earth Day - a day which will be celebrated at a national level. 3) They are concerned that no decision has been made for the yard waste program. C. 1990-91 Budget The Budget was discussed by the Board and some corrections were made in the justification of the sanitarian and nursing positions. The presentation to the Trustees will be made on March 7, 1990. 2 - Revised copies of the positions will be brought for the Trustees. Few cuts were made by the Manager's Office. They recommended both new positions to the Trustees. II. Routine Reports A. Coordinator's Report TB Clinic - 77 people were given Mantouxs.
