HomeMy WebLinkAboutBOARD OF HEALTH - 02/04/1992 - Minutes Village of Elk Grove Village Board of Health February 4, 1992 The regular meeting of the Elk Grove Village Board of Health was called to order at 7:40 p.m. , on February 4, 1992, in Meeting Room C of the Village Hall. Board Members Present Board Members Absent Pat McHale, Chairman Pat Bourke Dr. Charles Boyajian Pat Briggs Ray De Palma Ray Dean Dave Dopp Dr. Harold Labinsky Dr. John Kelly Jim Rubly Staff Present Nancy Yiannias Barbara Dumont Minutes of the January 7, 1992, Board of Health Meeting were approved. I. Old Business A. 1992-93 Budget The final proposed 1992-93 Budget was reviewed and discussed by the Board. A final review will be made by the Finance Department before it is submitted to the Village Board. A part-time clerk has been approved by the Manager's Office. B. Excessive Inspection Proposed Ordinance The proposed ordinance will be prepared by the Village attorney for submission to the Village Board for approval. II. Routine Reports A. Coordinator's Report -- Immunization Clinics 79 children received 174 shots at the January 22nd Clinic. The majority of the children were under 2 years of age. -- Blood Drive There were 85 donations of Blood given at the January 25th blood drive. The next drive will be held on April 25th. B. Community Nurse Report/January 1992 Count Time Community Nursing Activity 28 08.00 Community Patient Care 52 70.00 Public 62 07.50 Other Village Services 04.50 Professional Development 06.50 Educating Community 20.50 Student Supervision 09.00 Nursing Division 84 44.00 Grand Total 246 170.00 Barbara Dumont attended a Northwest Municipal Conference presentation on Tuberculosis and a question came up about doing Mantouxs on people having had prior positive reactions or known BCG immunizations. Dr. Boyajian will check into this question and give Barbara his professional opinion on the matter. Dave Dopp received a complaint about the Dunkin Donuts on Higgins. The sanitarians will check into the problem. The Compendium for 1991 will be included in the Board of Health packet for the March meeting. III. New Business Goals A. Development, Goals & Objectives Pat McHale would like the Board of Health to develop Goals for future programming activities. She would like the Board to discuss emergency trends in the Village and get the Board' s perception of needs of the community. This will be discussed at the March meeting.
