HomeMy WebLinkAboutBOARD OF HEALTH - 10/06/1992 - Minutes Village of Elk Grove Board of Health October 6, 1992 The regular meeting of the Elk Grove Village Board of Health was called to order at 7:35 p.m. , by Pat McHale, Chairwoman. I. Old Business A. Recycling Bench The bench has been completed and is scheduled to be transported to the West Side Public Works garage. Public Works will place signs on the bench and it will then be turned over to the Park District for placement. Since it is so late in the year, the Board of Health thought it might be best to wait for placement in the Spring. II. Routine Reports A. Coordinator's Report Immunization Clinics 122 children were given 285 shots at the 09/23/92 clinic. The clinic has been named Tri-Community Immunization Clinic to reflect workers from Elk Grove Village, Schaumburg and Arlington Heights Health Departments, plus Alexian Brothers Medical Center and Cook County Department of Public Health. Lending Closet Homex loaned out 4 items during the month of September. Paramedic Information Chief MacArthur will be sending us reports on ambulance calls which he receives from Northwest Community Hospital through their EMS. This information will be brought to the November meeting. TB Screening 83 food service and day care workers were screened for TB. 15 were positive (18%) and were referred to tuberculosis clinics for follow up. There has been an increase in positive results from previous clinics. B. These patients are urged to seek immediate medical attention. The flu clinic at the Grove Apartments was very successful. 168 people were given flu shots. There was some discussion regarding the consent form. January 1993 will be the 20th anniversary of the Blood Program. Nanci Vanderweel will be contacted for input on special promotion for that drive. III. New Business A. Long Range Planning This will be deferred to the next meeting. B. Review of Bylaws Pat McHale will bring bylaws for the Board of Health from Schaumburg for review at the next meeting.
