Tattoo Parlor Adam Carlson gave a presentation of the procedures used in giving a customer a tattoo. He spoke about his sanitation procedures, products used, types of needles used and the electric instrument used. Questions were asked by Board of Health Members regarding training, autoclaving, age limit of customers, insurance, etc. After the presenters left the Board of Health discussed the problem they saw if allowing tattoo parlors to operate in the Village. Some of these problems were: 1) lack of Certification, 2) health risks involved with blood borne diseases, 3) lack of an ordinance and/or guidelines to control such procedures, 4) lack of trained personnel to monitor the parlors. It was the consensus of the Board to send a written opinion to the Village Board advising them to disallow tattoo parlors in the Village. 2. Minutes of the April 17, 1996 meeting were approved.
