Minutes of the June 18, 1997,meeting were approved unanimously. 2. Coordinator's Report The Health Department is looking at a name change for the Sanitarians. The subject has been brought to the attention of the Health Officers group of the Northwest Municipal Conference. If a change is made it should be consistent with the surrounding municipalities. The Sanitarians' are still experiencing a time crunch. We have to reevaluate their duties and eliminate some tasks in order to put their time to best use or consider expanding staff. 3. Life Source gave the staff of the Health Department recognition plaques as a token of their . appreciation for our cooperation over the past 20 odd years. 4. Immunization - 129 children were given 232 shots at the August Immunization Clinic, our heaviest of the year. 5. Flu Clinics will be advertised in the media,on the signboard and fliers will be distributed. 6. Sanitarians' Report for August 1997 (see attached) Routine Inspections 45 Citations 9 Complaint Inspections 73 Total Inspections 118 7. Nurse's Report for August 1997 Screenings (Seniors) 47 Direct Patient Care 94 Public Programs (Immunizations) 135 Total Contacts 276 Page 2 Minutes -9/17/97 8. The Health Coordinator will be retiring in early 1998. The Board of Health will be participating in the reviewing of candidates for this position's replacement. They would like a copy of the job description,as well as, a copy of an organizational chart. 9. The new ordinance prohibiting the use of alcoholic beverages on common areas of multi-family was passed. It is currently being enforced by the Police Department. 10. The Board of health requested the Environmental Protection Agency's involvement in monitoring the disposal of liquids used by dry cleaners.
