James Christie, Chairman thanked the Board of Health members that attended the joint meeting with the Personnel Committee on March 4, 1998. 3, Wellness Programs Michael Cavallini presented an overview of the survey he conducted of wellness programs offered by surrounding communities. Additional information was presented on the Village of Palatine Wellness Program which includes a wide variety of wellness programs, as well as wellness events (health talks, walks, lunches). Mr. Christie stated that any wellness program must be personalized to the employees needs and employees must be made aware of what programs are offered. It was the consensus of the Board of Health to recommend that a health risk assessment first be conducted. This assessment would be confidential and would not include screenings. It should be conducted by an outside(neutral)party (hospital, private company). This would be followed up by an employee survey, based on the Palatine Wellness Survey. A wellness program could then be constructed around the assessment and survey. Richard Penley made a motion to send the recommendations to the Personnel Committee, Dr. Charles Boyajian seconded the motion. 4.
