HomeMy WebLinkAboutBOARD OF HEALTH - 05/27/1998 - rJ MINUTES Board of Health Village of Elk Grove Village May 27, 1998 The regular meeting of the Elk Grove Village Board of Health was called to order at 7:05 p.m. in Meeting Room C, lower level of the Village Hall. Board Members Present Board Members Absent James Christie, Chairman Susan Baker William Beaupre John Bosslet Lois Colaprete Dr. Charles Boyajian Ray DePalma Kelly Clancy Terri Dill Merrill Froney Dr. John Kelly D.r. Harold Labinsky Staff Michael Cavallini, Health Coordinator The minutes from the April 22,1998 meeting were approved by unanimous vote. New Board of Health member Terri Dill was welcomed by Chairman James Christie. 1. Wellness Programs The health Tisk assessment that will be provided through Alexian Brothers Medical Center was discussed. The health risk assessment will be accessible by the internet. Any resident will be able to fill out the questionnaire and get feed back if they wish. This could be used by the Village employees to devise the Village Wellness Program. There, will not be a charge for this service. Employees demographics would then be provided in the group response profile. A meeting will be set up with the Personnel Committee to discuss these two assessment tools. 2. Kenneth Younu Center A possible Fall joint meeting with the Kenneth Young Center staff was discussed. Lois Colaprete will set up a meeting date. 3. Mobil Food Vending Trucks The Health Coordinator, and Environmental Health Inspector met with the Village Attorney to discuss the problems with mobil food vending vehicles. The Village Attorney will write up procedures for legal action for repeat offenders. 4. Camelot on the Green Information on the Camelot on the Green celebration provided. Several Board of Health members expressed interest in reserving a table. 5. Sanitarian's Report-April 1998 May 1998 Routine Inspections 71 Complaints 104 Citations 0 Total 175 6. Nurse's Reoort April 1998 Screenings a. Hypertension(seniors) 78 b. Tuberculosis 231 c. Direct Patient Care 713 d. Public Programs(Immunization) 74 Total 4611 The Village Nurse also provided an article from the Centers of Disease Control on tuberculosis.
