Village of Elk Grove Village
August 26, 1998
The regular meeting of the Elk Grove Village Board of Health was called to order at 7:08 p.m. in
Meeting Room A, lower level of the Village Hall.

The minutes from the June 17, 1998 meeting were approved by unanimous vote.
1. Wellness Committee
Mr. Christie brought board members up to speed on the developmental progress of the Wellness
Program. Looking into ways of preventing computer"browsers" from accessing Wellness
participant's records and activities.
2. Fall Flu Clinics
Based on recommendations made by Community Health Nurse, Barbara Dumont, the board
approved the following changes; to raise the; cost of the flu shot from $3.00 to $5.00 per unit, and to
begin using pre-filled syringes as a way of saving staff time and in essence, money. A motion was
made by Terri Dill and a second by Ray DePalma.
3. Board of Health Meetings
The board agreed to hold future board of health meeting on the third Wednesday of each month.
Upcoming dates are as follows: September, 16, October 21, (to be held at the Kenneth Young
Center),November 18,no December meeting, and January 20.
4. Environmental Health Inspector
Environmental Health Inspector, Steve Curatti, gave brief overviews and answered questions on the
proposed mobile food vending ordinance and the Asian Long-horned Beetle.
5. Community Nurse
Barbara Dumont informed the board members that she will begin tracking the cost of (child
immunization) vaccines. Data will be prepared in the form of a report for the board's review at a
future meeting.
