Village of Elk Grove Village
October 21, 1998
The regular meeting of the Elk Grove Village Board of Health was called to order at 7:05 p.m. the
Kenneth Young Center, 1001 Rohlwing Road,Elk Grove Village.

The minutes from the September 16, 1998 meeting were approved by unanimous vote.
Kenneth Yount Center Meetinp
Prior to the regular meeting of the Board of Health, Mr. Mitch Bruski, C.E.O. of the Kenneth Young
Center conducted a tour of the facility. After the tour, the Board of Health, Health Coordinator, and Mr.
Mitch Bruski, met to discuss how the Health Department and Kenneth Young Center relate to each other
when assisting to the needs of Elk Grove residents. Mr. James Christie, was echoed by the Board of
Health Members in thanking Mr.Mitch Bruski and Lois Colaprete for inviting the Board of Health to the
Kenneth Young Center. The Board of Health also appreciated Renee's choice of refreshments.
Mobil Food Vendors
The Health Department, and Village Attorney, met with Mobil Food Vending owners and operators to
discuss the amendments to the Mobil Food Vending Ordinance. Changes include stricter enforcement
measures for repeat violations and driver.
Flu Clinics
Attendance at the flu clinics was running higher than previous years. No complaints were registered
regarding the higher fees. The pre-drawn syringes were a great time saver.
Wellness Proeram
The Wellness Program is on hold until the new]?ersonnel Rules and Regulations are completed.
"Trash Houses"
The Health Department will be meeting with other Village departments to discuss how to handle "trash
house" incidents.
Warmine/Cooline Centers
A draft of the guidelines when extreme temperature conditions occur was reviewed.
Alexian Brothers Medical Center
The report on hospital rankings in the Chicagol and area was discussed. ABMC ranked 11' out of 82
hospitals.
Blood Drive
A blood drive will be held on October 21, 1998.
Recycling Anniversary
The Village will be celebrating its 10i° year Anniversary of recycling. Several events will take place to
commemorate the event.
December Meetine
The Board of Health members voted not to hold a meeting in December.
