The walk will end at the Town Center fountain where healthy snacks and drinks will be served. In December, a lecture on depression is scheduled to be presented by Kenneth Young Staff. Flu Clinics The fall flu clinics will commence on October 30, 2000. Because of the shortage (non-existence of vaccine in the surrounding communities), the Health Department is looking at a number of options. Restricting the vaccine to 65 years and older, restricting them to Elk Grove residents only, or raising prices to match surrounding communities (prices for vaccine have risen from $4.85 to $6.31 per dose). Dr. Harold Labinsky made a motion, seconded by Merrill Froney to limit the flu vaccine to Elk Grove residents only. It was passed by unanimous vote. The Health Department will contact the Police Department for crowd control if required. Non-Compliant Restaurant The non-compliant restaurant has hired a consultant to train their employees in proper food handling procedures. The Health Department will conduct inspections to check for improvements. Blood Drive A blood drive will be held on November 0. It is being held one week late because of"Make a Difference Day".
