Kelly Clancy Resignation Board of Health member Kelly Clancy submitted her resignation to Chairman James Christie. The Board of Health would like to go on record to say that Kelly Clancy will be missed. They appreciate all the time and effort she gave to the Village Health Programs. Kelly was instrumental in getting the Employee Wellness Program off the ground. Dr. Kelly made a motion to recognize Kelly at the employee recognition dinner in April. Terri Dill seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. 2001-2002 Budget The Board of Health reviewed the 2001-2002 budget submitted by Health Services. Health Services has requested a part-time code enforcement inspector. Increased funding for flu vaccine is also requested. New capital outlays are a desk for the Community Health Nurse, printer/fax/copy machine, and new PC. Wellness Program In December,the Wellness Committee sponsored a talk on"Stressless Holidays", presented by the Kenneth Young Center. An employee wellness newsletter is scheduled for January (newsletter was distributed to Board). Flu Clinics A total of 2000 flu shots were given over 7 clinics in 2000. Health Services will be ordering an additional 500 doses for the fall clinics in 2001. Mobile Food Vendors Two mobile food-vending companies were brought in for hearing regarding revocation of driver's permits. Two drivers had their permits permanently revoked because of repeated violations. Community Health Nurse The Community Health Nurse was asked to justify the addition of PREVNAR at the immunization clinics. This vaccine is administered to present pneumococcal disease. It is now available free from the State. The Board approved use of PREVNAR with certain restrictions. It will be used for low income, underinsured families. A doctor's prescription will also be required. The Nurse also requested the Board approval to purchase and distribute forms to clients regarding Durable Power of Attorney. The Board approved purchase and distribution.
