MEMBERS PRESENT: STAFF PRESENT: Tosto, Michael A. , Chr. Gary E. Parrin, Asst. Village Manager Garr, Lee D. H. Peter Kaleta, Dir./Public Works Hauser, Edward R. Jack B. Andrews, Supt. of Streets The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the acceptance of public improvements in the Elk Grove Townhouse Association area (Bordeaux Court, Versailles Circle, Dauphine Court, Burgundy Court) . The major delay in resolving this matter was the acquisition of easements from individual property owners (the Village has received all but four of the necessary easements) . The Village Attorney is finalizing the recording of these easements with both the Chicago Title & Trust and with Torrens. The Committee had no objection to accepting the Townhouse Association streets and concurring with the Association request that the Village not provide snow removal service. However, the Association will have to provide the Village with a Certificate of Insurance in such amounts as required by the Village, and name the Village as an additional insured party. During the discussion of the Agreement provisions, Garr suggested that language be added to the Agreement which would obligate the Association to provide a minimum of 24 hour notice to the Village should they require Village snow plowing services. While it is anticipated that the Village could respond to their request in less than 24 hours, the advance notice will provide the Village with an opportunity to reschedule its deployment of snow removal equipment. Hauser added that the Village should also make the Association aware that Village snow removal services would be only for the dedicated streets. The Village will not remove, nor be responsible for the accumulation of, snow on sidewalks, driveways or in private parking stalls. Both of the above suggestions will be incorporated in the Agreement. In addition, the cost for repairing defects or failures that have appeared over the past two year period was also increased in order to bring the Association's improvements up to Village require- ments. Tosto requested that the Agreement accepting the streets and utilities in the common open area be revised and sent to the Capital Improvements Committee - 2 - February 19, 1980 Association for their concurrence. Concurrently, the Capital Improve- ments Committee will report to the Village Board on the outcome of their February 19 meeting. If the Association concurs with the revised Agreement, approval to sign the Agreement will be requested as a Village Board agenda item. The meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m. Submitted by: a Parrin sistant Village Manager GEP:ms c: President & Board of Trustees Village Manager Director of Public Works Administrative Assistant Townhouse Association II
