SUMMARY OF MEETING
March 21 , 1981 7:00 P.M.
Members Present: Staff Present:
Michael A. Tosta H. Peter Kaleta, Dir. Public Works
Ronald L. Chernick H. Goeddeke, Foreman, Street Division
Stephen M. Uhlarik Robin Weaver, Adm. Asst/Public Works
Tom Cech, Village Engineer
TOPIC: WELLINGTON AVENUE
1 . Due to the high cost involved in reconstructing Wellington
and the possibility of trucks with heavy loads using the
road for future Village Hall construction, the Committee
agreed that Wellington Avenue should be patched and re-
paved between Banbury and Biesterfield. The cost is
estimated at $8,000.00 plus Village labor and equipment.
2. The Commitee reviewed the proposed placement of storm
sewers at:
Tanglewood & Greenbriar $24,576
Landmeier from Wildwood to Greenbriar 83,551
Germaine b Wildwood 12,218
$120,3
The improvements would eliminate the large amount of
water that collects at these sites and serve to pre-empt
deterioration of the pavement. Village Engineer Tom Cech
supplied information on sewer tie-ins.
3. Additional streets will be reviewed for inclusion in the
1981 MFT streets program for repaving work. Streets may
be added for improvement this year in order to take advantage
of lower costs in contracting due to the economy and competitive
bidding.
4. The Committee directed the Village Engineer to examine the
culvert at Elmhurst Road near Carmen Drive for blockage and
to report to the State that a petroleum pipe at that location
is uncovered and dangerously exposed.
