HomeMy WebLinkAboutCAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS - 04/30/1982 - MINUTES CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS COMMITTEE MEETING Tuesday, April 20, 1982 President & Board Members Present: Staff Present: Charles Zettek, President Ray Peterson, Village Engineer Michael Tosto, Committee Chairman George Coney, Finance Director Ronald Chernick, Committee Member Thomas Cech, Director of Public Works Stephen UhZarik, Committee Member George Knickerbocker, Village Attorney Joseph BossZet, Trustee Edward Hauser, Trustee James Petri, Trustee Others Present: Suzanne Johnson, Daily Herald Industrial Drainage Ditches The meeting was called to order in the Elk Grove Village Municipal Building by Trustee Tosto at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 1982. The purpose of the meeting was to establish policy guidelines for this pro- ject, and to recommend an expenditure of funds for the purpose of pro- ceeding toward the Public Hearing. Trustee Tosto indicated that approximately $5,000 is needed to hire consultants to do the following: 1) Obtain a surveyor to do a legal description of the districts boundary, and 2) Hire a financial consultant to put together the package to finance the project. The Board was in agreement with this expenditure and, as such, it will be brought before the Board at the next Board Meeting for action. In addition, the Committee received the Board's concurrence in adopting Alternate #6 with a two year protection level as the recommended plan. This alternate provided for most of the existing ditches to be replaced with various sizes of sewer pipe, placement of new sewers and construction of an enlarged detention pond. Cont 'd. . . Capital Improvements Committee Meeting April 20, 1982 Page 2 To show the Village 's commitment to this project, the Board agreed with the Committee 's recommendation to finance those portions of the project within Village rights-of-way. Also, the Village would provide storm sewer on Nicholas Boulevard in conformance with the reconstruction plans prepared by Warren and VanPraag. This commit- ment amounts to approximately 20% of the estimated cost for Alternate #6. The meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Ray L. Oeterson, Village Engineer
