Chernick Tom Cech, Director of Public Works- Trustee S. Ulharik Joe Gdowski, Foreman of Land/Forestry Meeting was called to order at 7:05 P.M. Chairman Tosto announced that today's meeting with the Roundtree Commons Homeowners' Association has been cancelled by Roundtree and the meeting has been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 30, 1983, at 7:00 P.M. Chairman Tosto reviewed the proposed Tree Ordinance Revision that permits Village personnel to plant bare root trees. This was previously discussed and recommended for approval by the Committee. Mr. Cech and Mr. Gdowski presented a new list of acceptable trees for considera- tion as a further revision of the tree ordinance. Trees were selected for their low maintenance, aesthetic features as well as their ability to with- stand the climatic and soil conditions of this area. Generally, they are able to hold a truer form which minimizes pruning and are more insect and disease tolerant which reduces spraying requirements. The list of acceptable parkway trees submitted and unanimously approved by the Committee was: Norway Maple (seedless) White Oak Red Maple (seedless) Red Oak White Ash (seedless) English Oak Blue Ash (seedless) Sawtooth 0ak Green Ash (seedless) Burr Oak Hesse European Ash Hackberry Big Leaf Linden (seedless) Ginkgo (male only) Little Leaf Linden (seedless Village Green Zelkova European Hornbeam Flowering Pear (fruitless) American Hornbeam Shawnee Brave Cypress Katsura Tree Honeylocust (seedless & thornless) Tulip Tree The new list was expanded to obtain greater variety of species in the Village and greater flexibility in purchasing trees thereby reducing our material costs. esh pectfu11 submitted, J Tom Cec TJC:wbj cc - All Trustees and Village President Village Manager - Village Engineer - Land/Forestry Foreman 31783 Minutes Capital Improvements Committee Page 2 4.
