The Committee reviewed the list of Capital
Projects as submitted in a May 21 , 1993 memo from the
Director of Finance. The Consensus of the Committee
was to recommend that the Village Board approve the
projects as follows:
CAPITAL PROJECTS - CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND
Item 1 . Biesterfield Phase 1 & 2 -- Acceptable
Item 2 . Boulevard Improvements Phase 3 - Modify as
follows:
A. Widen Kennedy/Morrison from west of
Creighton to Elk Grove Boulevard to
include two 11 to 12 foot lanes
in each direction. The widening is to
be done at the center median. The
grass median on Kennedy is to be paint
striped by staff to show how 11
foot versus 12 foot lanes would
impact the median.
B. Resurface Elk Grove Boulevard from
Morrison to Tonne using MFT Funds. Do
not widen this street . The current
contract with the ditch contractor
will be reduced by the amount to repair
Elk Grove Boulevard due to the ditch
work.
C. No consensus was reached on adding
curbs to Elk Grove Boulevard from
Arlington Heights Road to Morrison.

Item 14 . Ridge Avenue .Gift Station -- Acceptable
Item 15. Fire Administration Remodeling -- Acceptable
Item 16. Relocate Landmeier Fire Station --
Acceptable. ,Staff is to seek out alternate
locations and obtain property values.
Item 17. Bury Electrical Lines along Biesterfield --
Acceptable.
CAPITAL PROJECTS - WATER & SEWER FUND
Item 18. Elevated Water Storage tank -- Acceptable
Have a consultant study possible locations
and consider moving Income Tax Surcharge
Funds from Ca,Dital Projects Fund to the
Water & Sewer Fund to avoid a water & sewer
Fund deficit in FY 194 .
Item 19 . Elevated water storage tank -- Acceptable
Item 20. Relocate Tonne/Landmeier watermain --
Acceptable
Item 21 . Watermain Replacement Program -- Remove
$110,000 budge=ted to replace watermain in
conjunction with the widening of Elk Grove
Boulevard.
Item 22 . Are all recommended as noted. Note item #25
through should be $465,000 under FY 94; not $160,000.
