Edwards, Superintendent of Streets OTHERS: None 1995 Street Maintenance Program Committee reviewed the proposed 1995 program submitted by the Department of Public Works to the Village Manager on December 5, 1994. Projected MFT Fund balance for April 30, 1995 is$1.6 million with $765,000 additional revenue for fiscal year 1995-96. The committee unanimously recommends: - Approval of the 1995 Street Program as contained in the December, 1994 submittal. Funding of the asphalt and concrete replacement work by MFT. This represents a change from previous years when only asphalt work was funded by MFT,with concrete work paid with corporate funds. It was determined that the MFT fund was healthy and could now handle the concrete work and still be nearly self sustaining. Material testing services would continue to be paid by the Corporate Fund because of its relatively small amount and the significant extra administrative effort needed to use MFT funds. Staff was directed to place this matter on the January 24, 1995 Village Board Consent Agenda as follows: - Approval of 1995 Street Maintenance Program as proposed. - Resolution appropriating $783,971.02 of MFT Funds for the program. - Combine the Devon Avenue (Berkenshire to Somerset) Sidewalk Project with this concrete work and bid as one contract. - Authorize staff to advertise and seek bids. Use of Asphalt Rejuvenating Agent Public Works presented a new maintenance methodology, the use of an asphalt rejuvenating agent that they would like to try on an experimental basis this year. A small $3,000 - $4,000 pilot project was suggested. It would be presented in the Corporate Budget. Committee favored the idea and suggested a residential and industrial street be included. The meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m. ca (TC1695) c: President and Board of Trustees Village Manager Assistant Village Manager Administrative Assistant Village Attorney All Department Heads
