Landmeier Noise Reduction Plan
Committee and residents toured Landmeier site to view improvements and changes noted in May
9, 1996 memo from the Director of Public Works.
New fence is currently advertised for bids with bid opening date of June 11, 1996. Work
expected to be completed in July. Staff was directed to schedule fence work to start early in a
week so it could be completed by end of the week and not linger over a weekend or the 4th of
July. Also, staff was directed to communicate construction schedule to residents. Residents
expressed appreciation for improvements implemented to date. They requested additional
improvements as follows:
• Replace dead or struggling evergreen trees with new ones.
• Plant additional evergreen trees along east side of site where possible.
• Perform more frequent litter control.
• Add more mulch under evergreen trees.
• Add concrete curb between asphalt and evsrgreen screening along east side.
• Relocate storage of materials and supplies (pipe, hydrants, concrete structure, etc.) from
along east fence line to another location.
• Prohibit parking of vehicles along east side of building during lunch period and overnight.
Staff was directed to review these additional requests and report back to the committee.
A follow up meeting with residents to review progress and effectiveness of changes is tentatively
scheduled for September.
