SIDEWALK AT GULLO/BUTERA SHOPPING CENTER
Chairman Petri called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M. The
Committee discussed a request for the installation of sidewalk on
shopping center property which would allow for pedestrian access
from the public sidewalk on Biesterfield Road to the buildings
within the shopping center.
Trustee Johnson indicated that he had visited the shopping center
to determine potential areas where sidewalk could be installed.
Due to the limited amount of landscaped areas along the major
access driveway into the shopping center (along the east side of
the property) it was determined that a sidewalk could not be placed
in that area. Trustee Johnson indicated that a more appropriate
location was just east of the western most shopping center driveway
along the easterly line of the vacant lot which abuts Biesterfield
Road.
After further discussion, the Committee unanimously recommended
that a sidewalk be installed just east of the western most shopping
center driveway from the Biesterfield Road sidewalk to the parking
lot aisle south of the Video Update store. In addition, the
Committee directed the Director of Engineering & Community
Development to contact the developer of the shopping center and ask
that the sidewalk be installed at his cost. The Director of
Engineering & Community Development is to report back to the
Committee regarding the outcome of his discussions with the
developer.
