UNDERGROUNDING OF OVERHEAD LINES
Rita Zolinski asked the Committee to consider
undergrounding the utility lines on wood poles located on
the Commonwealth Edison right-of-way behind her home
adjacent to the elevated power transmission lines. She felt
these lines should be buried first before any other lines in
the Village due to the older age of the subdivision.
Also discussed were concerns over the cost of burying
other electrical lines along County rights-of-way. Staff
was requested to obtain the following:
• Determine the purpose of the lines on wooden poles
within the Commonwealth Edison right-of-way.
• Continue pursuing the cost alternatives for burying the
P. U.D. lines (CosmanIBeisner) .
• Have Commonwealth Edison develop an estimate price for
burying of overhead lines on Arlington Heights Road
from Devon to Elk Grove High. Utilize that cost and
distance to estimate the cost for burying all overhead
lines on County right-of-way in residential sections.
• Provide the Committee with an aerial of the P. U.D. (R-4
district) .
• Develop criteria for the undergrounding of overhead
lines.

The Committee concurred with the following public
improvements:
• Sidewalk on Tonne south of post office: $1, 060
• Sidewalk across the Elk Grove Boulevard median at Tonne: $675
• 8' wide sidewalk on Rohlwing Road across the Village 1 . 5 acre
parcel, 8' wide - $9, 398
• 8' wide sidewalk on the east side of Rohlwing Road from
Biesterfield Road north to Woodland Meadow Park site: $35, 090
• Street light installation along Beisner Road (between Gloucester
and Winston) , and along Cosman (between Winston and Charles) :
$5, 374
Total estimated cost for above is $51, 597
The Committee decided to exclude the installation of sidewalk
on Cosman from Charles to Winston.
The meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
